International Activity
The Institute of Hydrobiology supports and develops international relations in various ways: based on an exchange of scientific information, a participation in international symposiums, conferences, through scientific and technical cooperation with appropriate foreign institutions.
Today, the traditional fruitful connections with the academic institutions of Moldova, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria have preserved and got a new impulse. Recently, the cooperation with the Institute for Marine Research at the University of Quebec (Canada), and the University of Portsmouth Corporation for Higher Education (UK) has been established.
Within the framework of international scientific and technical cooperation and based on bilateral agreements, the Institute has participated in many international projects during the last 5 years (see: Research Developments)
The leading scientists represent the Institute in international organizations connected with an environmental protection, a coordination and consolidation of efforts to conserve biodiversity, and improvement of the ecological status of the water bodies. The specialists of the Institute are experts in different international organizations such as NС MAB UNESCO, ICPDR, IAD, Commission on the Protection of the Black Sea Against Pollution, European Regional Centre for Ecohydrology (UNESCO) etc.
